Catie Constas is a mixed media artist working and residing in Boston, MA.

They work in a variety of mediums, including sculpture, textiles, acrylic paint, and tattooing. Their work explores concepts of the body, memory, and the tension between the gorgeous and the grotesque.

Catie Constas graduated from Boston College in 2023 with a B.A. in studio art, conentrating in mixed media. They also studied Japanese language and culture, minoring in Asian studies. Catie has also studied art and Japanese language in Kyoto, Japan, specifically focusing on traditional Japanese textile dyeing techniques.

In their art pratice, Constas enjoys creating work which utilizes both fine art mediums and unconventional organic materials, especially blood and hair, to produce pieces which are simultaneously beautiful and unsettling. Catie enjoys pushing the boundaries of figurative art and the capabilities of materials to create uncanny and intriguing objects which both provoke and delight.

Catie is also an avid crafter and works professionally as a children’s studio art teacher.
